August 1 - August 7, 2010

LONG-TERM CLOSURE
On Interstate 80, the east and westbound Donner Rest Areas will be closed from May 3, 2010 to             May 1, 2011. A contractor is schedule to replace both rest areas. When this $3.4 million project is complete the facilities and parking will be upgraded to meet the demands of the more than three million annual visitors and will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Weekly Construction Schedule
Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock:  Work has begun on the $167 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80.  Work includes total roadway replacement will Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems, and adding a new sediment/debris collection system.
August 1 - 5
On Interstate 80 from State Route 20 to Rainbow: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.  A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Donner Summit to Donner Lake: Work continues on the $71 million Donner III construction project to improve Interstate 80. Work includes repaving the existing roadway with Portland Cement Concrete, reconstructing failed sections of roadway, adding new drainage systems, upgrading existing drainage systems and construction of a new sediment/debris collection system. Completion is expected in 2011.  Project is on suspension.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Donner Lake to Donner Pass Road in Truckee: Work continues on the $70 million Donner I construction project to improve Interstate 80. Work includes repaving the existing roadway with Portland Cement Concrete, reconstructing failed sections of roadway, adding new drainage systems, upgrading existing drainage systems, construction of a westbound truck-climbing lane from Donner Pass Road to the Donner Lake Interchange and construction of a new sediment/debris collection system. Completion is expected in 2010.
August 2 - 6
On Interstate 80 from the Trout Creek under-crossing to the Donner Lake undercrossing: Motorists can expect various westbound lane and ramp closures from    4 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Boca to the Nevada State line: Work continues on the $73 million Truckee River Canyon construction project to improve Interstate 80. Work includes repaving the existing roadway with Portland Cement Concrete, reconstructing failed sections of roadway, adding new drainage systems, upgrading existing drainage systems, construction of a westbound truck-climbing lane from Donner Pass Road to the Donner Lake Interchange and construction of a new sediment/debris collection system. Completion is expected in 2010.

On Interstate 80 from Floriston to the Nevada State line: Motorists can expect lane availability as follows and may be subject to change without prior notification:
EASTBOUND / 2 LANES AVAILABLE ON:
o THURSDAY - 1PM TO 6PM
o FRIDAY - 1PM TO 10PM
o SATURDAY - 9AM TO 9PM
ONE EASTBOUND LANE AVAILABLE AT ALL OTHER TIMES
WESTBOUND / 2 LANES AVAILABLE ON:
o SUNDAY - 8AM TO 7PM
ONE WESTBOUND LANE AVAILABLE AT ALL OTHER TIMES
