Sunday through Saturday

October 28 – November 3, 2012

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Highway 49 (Nevada County) Work has resumed on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way, just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, right- turn pockets and new sound walls. Completion is expected by spring 2013.

October 28 – October 30

On Highway 49 from Pingree Road to Cornette Way:  Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday.   A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work. 

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $105 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems.  Completion is expected in the fall of 2013.  Motorists are reminded that this construction zone is posted at 55 mph and there is a “no passing zone.”

August 21 – October 29

On westbound Interstate 80, all through passenger vehicles will be detoured to a single lane on the eastbound side of Interstate 80.  All commercial, large vehicles or vehicles towing will stay on the single remaining lane on the westbound side.  Motorists are advised to use caution in the area.  Make your lane choice in advance of Nyack to avoid last minute lane changes. 

October 29 – November 2

On eastbound Interstate 80 from Yuba Gap to Rainbow:  Motorists can expect the eastbound #1 lane closed from 6 a.m. Monday through 10 a.m. Friday.  Motorists should be prepared for multiple trucks entering and exiting the roadway.   A contractor is scheduled to do barrier removal.

October 29 – October 30

On westbound Interstate 80 from Cisco Grove to Yuba Gap:  Motorists can expect various eastbound lane closures from 6 a.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday.   A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Nevada City to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to install snow poles.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Bennett Street to the Yuba County line: Motorists can expect the #2 lane and right shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A utility contractor is scheduled to do shoulder work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from State Route 193 to Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls at various locations from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A Caltrans Crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the South Fork Dry Creek to the North Fork Dry Creek:  Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. (9 a.m. Saturday) Sunday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.   

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Unnamed Road to the Rest Area: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  A contractor is scheduled to do slope clearing. 

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Belle to Old Gold Lake Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work. 

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from State Route 89 south to Floriston:  Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do striping work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Trout Creek to Hinton Road:  Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.  A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at State Route 267/State Route 89N:  Motorists can expect various westbound lane closures from 4 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.  A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) on the Monte Vista and Yuba Gap overcrossings: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 12:01 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Friday.  A contractor is scheduled for bridge work. 

Interstate 80 (Placer County) on the Russell Road overcrossing: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled for bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Bowman:  Motorists can expect the east and westbound #3 lane closed from midnight Monday through 11:59 p.m. Saturday.  A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous work. 

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run:  Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Rainbow to the Nevada County line: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lanes closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Alta to Drum: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 12:01 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.  A contractor is scheduled for grinding operations.

Interstate 89 (Placer County) from Alpine Meadows Road to Squaw Valley Road:  Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday.  A contractor is scheduled to do sign work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from the Nevada County line to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

The Caltrans District Traffic Management Branch has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.  Lanes are numbered from the center divide (#1) to the shoulder (#2, 3, 4, etc.).
